I was hesitant to stay here based on the previous reviews, but I am glad I gave it a chance. I was checked in by the General Manager and she told me they have made some good improvements since she has been there. Everyone was very nice and friendly. I come to the area for work every few weeks and I will be returning.

I didn't have high expectations of my stay. So when I stepped on something sticky on the floor on the path to the air conditioner- something like vomit or food that had just been vacuumed, I sighed and rolled with it. Ended up putting my shoes on. When I found out there was no shower curtain in the bathroom, I sighed again since the shower seemed ok, at least, and calmly used bath towels to dry out the mess of water on the floor, after doing my best to avoid creating one while showering. Next morning when I decided to make a cup of coffee, there was no place to put the prefilled coffee filter in the coffee maker. Soooo these are three pretty significant strikes. I then decided I would talk to the front desk. The hotel manager refused to refund any amount for the mishaps and also refused to allow for a checkout beyond 11:30. The staff was nice. Except for this manager. I am sure there are much better places to stay around here. Do your research. It wasn’t like it was cheap. I stayed as part of a wedding block. Next time I will look around. And always wear my shoes in the room.

Stayed here last weekend to visit some family. Big improvement since my last visit!Lobby was well docorated and the staff was great. I met the new manager which was friendly too. I would definitly recommend staying here.

My family and I were staying here for a wedding and I really regret not checking the reviews. The only reason it gets one star is because there was breakfast, a shower, and I'd say a bed but not even that was good. My mother in laws room had two beds, one WITH BED BUGS!!!! Yes bed bugs.... by the time I was told, we had already spent the night from the reception and had no time to change hotels since we had a wedding to get to. We all slept awful thinking about potential bed bugs in our other beds because if they were in one bed who is to say they aren't in the rest? We found four in the first night and in following morning there were babies crawling on the pillows... absolutely disgusting. When we told the front desk, they almost seemed like it wasn't the first time. The rooms were barely cleaned and they clearly need new sheets and beds. Currently laying everything, including my daughters pack n play (WHERE I FOUND ONE), in the sun in hopes I don't bring any in my home.

This place is a clown show, don't stay here.
Room not ready on time (we are now late for a wedding!) Was told the room should have been cleaned two days ago. Multiple lights don't work. No shampoo. No cups. Toilet doesn't flush. Etc.
Worst of all, super rude employee bangs on the door at midnight after we are sleeping saying he is going to evict us right this minute because we did not check in. Huh? It took their incompetent staff 15 minutes to check us in and the credit card is already charged! How does he think we got keys to the room Crazy at that hour with that rudeness...I suggested we fix it in the morning, which led to even more threats. You do NOT want to deal with all of this just for a hotel room, go someplace else. Also, the place is just not kept up. See picture of our bathroom. Breakfast is mediocre at best.

Stayed 11/8 was charged for single room along with $50 deposit. Noticed a $150 pending charge on 11/12. Called and spoke to 2 different front desk people and said manager was not on duty at the time. supposedly the bedding was “damaged” since when can they charge you over the deposit fee..? Still waiting on call back.
Have stayed here several times with no real issues until now. Although, whenever I have stayed in the past, tv didn’t work, missing shower curtain, no clean towels, dirty floors - i asked the front desk one time for a vacuum because the room i got was beyond dirty so i vacuumed the room myself because the housekeeping clearly didn’t do their job.

Our recent stay at the Country Inn and Suites in Benton Harbor was incredibly disappointing. As soon as we arrived, the hallways were littered with trash, making the entire atmosphere feel neglected and unwelcoming. The cleanliness of our room was severely lacking, with smears on the mirrors and faucets, and shockingly, the toilet was dirty. The furniture was no better, marred with unsightly stains that suggested a lack of proper maintenance.

To make matters worse, all the tile floors in the building were so sticky that our feet would actually stick to them, making every step uncomfortable. After being enticed with the promise of a continental breakfast, it was nowhere to be found, leaving us both hungry and frustrated. Attempting to address these concerns was another challenge, as the front desk staff was hardly recognizable in a Playboy hoodie with the hood up.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel based on our experience. It was a letdown from start to finish, and I hope they make necessary improvements for future guests.

Positive: overall clean, quiet; two min drive to Applebee's for food; offered good last min deal; solid wifi Negative: Froze all night b/c insufficient blankets in room. New mattress, but v. strange foam & not the most comfortable. Slept poorly after all; missed breakfast. Tiny thin towels. Not sure what owners have against linens. Wouldn't stay again.
