Equipment damage for months, men's changing room disgusting, washrooms smelling bad, always full of people and the staff is adding more and more new people every day. Personal Training area completely useful. They are always Training on the main room and not in the dedicated space. This place needs improvements ASAP.

This location really pushes personal training contracts when you set up a membership. It's very uncomfortable because they don't take no for an answer and find ways to keep pushing. You can read other reviews for this gym and see why this often leads to negative experiences.

The gym itself is fairly small compared to the volume of people that use it. Their North Road location has a better ratio and layout.

The price for the medium package is 80$ a month before tax. Other gyms are far more competitive for lower prices. If you cancel they will bill you for the current cycle and the following one.

Overall, I wouldn't want anyone who's looking to start there fitness journey to come into an uncomfortable space where they will put sales ahead of people. You'd be better off paying a bit more for regular yoga or boxing classes. Otherwise, local city gyms or other private gyms offer a better price and a more comfortable environment.

Overall good facility located right near metrotown. Love the free parking downstairs (don't forget to scan the qr code when you get inside) layout for equipment is a little odd but hey. Gets the job done.

It’s fantastic!
Classes are great, music is good, vibe is great, team is great, equipment’s are available and it’s clean !

I love how spacious it is!

And you truely appreciate the women’s section it is has, it’s usually less crowded and equipment’s are close to each other.

I always enjoy my time at GoodLife.

Short version: a trainer (Sasha) randomly put their hands on me while I was working out on my own. Despite my best efforts, I wasn’t able to get anywhere with Sasha or management in addressing the incident. As far as I know, this trainer faced zero consequences. There are also women constantly taking photos in the changeroom without even being careful about others getting changed around them. If you’re a woman looking for a safe space to exercise that values consent DO NOT GO HERE. There’s a woman-only gym 2-3 blocks west of Goodlife that (so far) has been good. Maybe try that one.

Long version: I was working out on my own, minding my own business with my earbuds in, when I felt someone behind me, and a pair of hands wrap around mine. It was Sasha, one of the trainers who works there. I was completely shocked and got off the equipment I was using to get away from her. She looked confused and told me I didn’t need to stop using the machine. I replied, “...You just
 put your hands on me
without my permission?” She replied, “Oh, I see. I’m sorry”. And happily went back to what she was doing like it was no big deal.
I went to the front desk and asked if trainers were allowed to put their hands on people without permission. They said that wasn’t allowed and encouraged me to officially report the trainer. At the time, I thought if Sasha and I could resolve this between ourselves then there was no need to get her in trouble.
I went back over to Sasha, said I’d confirmed that she wasn’t allowed to touch people without their consent, and told her I wouldn’t report her as long as she promised me she would never do that again to anyone else, which she did.
I tried my best to just move on and leave it in the past, but it didn’t work. I’d gone from looking forward to workouts to dreading them. From feeling euphorically happy at the gym to feeling hypervigilant and uncomfortable. I had been thriving and she ruined it. Worst of all, Sasha wasn’t avoiding me AT ALL. If I wanted space, I was the one that needed to constantly move out of HER way to get it.
One day I was doing my changeroom routine when Sasha came in. For context, the changeroom was empty at the time and there were plenty of available mirrors that were nowhere near me. Still, she chose the mirror next to mine. I said “Can you please make more of an effort to give me some space? I’ve been having to move away from you a lot and I don’t think that’s fair.”
Sasha’s response: “Why are you being like this? I was just trying to help you.”
I was absolutely furious. Clearly she didn’t think she had done anything wrong and had only apologized before to get me off her back. I told her that I was reporting her.
The fitness manager told me he’d heard about the incident, but didn’t realize it affected me so much, and asked what he could do. I suggested consent workshops for the staff and a sit-down discussion with me, him, and Sasha. I also said that if we weren’t able to get Sasha to understand what was so wrong with what she did, then she shouldn’t work there. That, if the rules aren’t enforced, then they’re meaningless. He suggested I take a few days to cool off and then come back for the discussion.
I went back to the changeroom only to find that Sasha was still at the mirror next to mine, meaning that I couldn’t get my things without her in my space. I lost my temper and raised my voice (which I’m not proud of. I just lost control at that point). Sasha OPENLY SNICKERED AT ME and said “Yea, yea, I get it. Don’t touch you.”
When I came back a few days later for the discussion, per the fitness manager’s request, I was told that he had gone on vacation, and wouldn’t be back for several weeks.
I gave up and cancelled my membership. They honestly seemed glad that I was leaving for good and they didn’t have to deal with me anymore. Nobody ever contacted me to follow up.
I’ve been at my new gym for a few months now and I’m much happier with it. But my traumatic experience at Goodlife still haunts me.

I absolutely love this location, and coming to this gym. I am newer to Vancouver, and it's been so nice to go to a place that is friendly, welcoming and no-bs pretentious attitudes.

The staff are so nice, and really do go above and beyond to keep the place clean and tidy. You literally will not ever see them standing around doing nothing they're always doing something!

Yes, some of the machines break (from misuse by guests, not the fault of the gym owners or staff obvs) but they're always quick to get a maintenance person in to fix anything as soon as possible.

The gym is huge, and even on a really busy day the guests that attend this gym are kind and friendly and will let you work in with them on machines if needed.

The women's section can get a wee bit crowded at times, but really if you wait like 5 minutes it clears out. The change rooms/bathrooms are constantly being cleaned and maintained.

I've met so many beautiful, encouraging, strong and lovely people coming to this place that it is worth it for me to drive the half hour to get there lol.

It's a great overall environment, I spend so much time here its like my home away from home ♡ Thank you to the owners, trainers, and staff that make this place so freaking great! Your hard work doesn't go un noticed!
Big love from the bald elliptical girl 👍😬👍

For over $100/month gym memberships. They still charge you $25 service fee without noticing you if the payment didn’t go through. No notice that you should update your banking information but send a message out 2 weeks after that you are charged $25 extra service fee for payment not going through.
And with a message that it’s in your signed contract. Talking to the customer service they are stuck up and said you signed it and all business does it.
Shameless business.

I’ve never worked out in my life, so signing up for personal training was a big step for me!

My personal trainer, Sasha, is amazing. She explains the various gym tools I work with, what muscles they target, how to use them, and why they’re important for me. She's always focused on me during sessions, correcting my posture and body positioning, and carefully managing my exercise patterns and routine.

As a beginner, I find her approach super helpful and motivating. She also checks in on my nutrition, sometimes sharing advice or offering me healthy food she has. She’s an action-taker, not just going through the motions like a robot. I feel a genuine connection with her, and she’s made me enjoy working out. After two months with her, my previous body pain has mostly disappeared—I don’t even notice it anymore. It’s like magic! She also offers great flexibility with scheduling, is responsive, and always strives to provide the best experience for her clients.

I’ve noticed the gym tends to get busier in the afternoon, so I’ve learned how to share workout equipment with others from Sasha. Despite that, Sasha remains focused on me while also offering help to others if she sees something that needs attention.

The gym is clean, and I love the group workout classes it offers. Caitlyn, the sales representative, was delightful and really motivated me to sign up—she’s excellent at her job. The manager, Derek, is always available and very helpful if I have any questions related to the gym membership and policy. Overall, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and for me, the vibe and experience go beyond just the gym.
