The idea of a business like this is pretty genius. Make a second-hand clothing store that takes in unwanted clothing, pay the customers for it, and sell it at 3x the price.
But it gets out of hand when you bring them an entire basket of mid-high quality clothing, they offer $20 after a solid 2 minutes of checking through everything, and then be persistent and urging you to keep the rest with them to "donate". It feels criminal how much they low ball you. But hey if you're cleaning out your closet and want to (hopefully) donate it and get SOMETHING out of it, this place is good considering the low effort I guess.

Writing as a seller (meaning this store buys on the spot and not on consignment). I took in 5 lg bags of current season female clothes (for ages 20s to 50s) all in excellent condition and some items were NWTs. I was offered less than $2 for only one item, a workout jacket. While the young girl was going through my clothes, I walked around the store looking at current merchandise (clothes, shoes, & pocketbooks). My items fit their floor rack styles, rated far better condition, in season, and were of better quality. I also noticed their prices were jacked up many times over on a similar jackets from what I was offered. It was a total waste of my time and I feel it depends on the age of the girl going through the items. Additionally, the clothing that doesn't sell from the floor still makes them money when they sell for recycling, for which they are also paid. It's a total win for them. After my visit, I talked to others who felt taken advantage of as well. I'd prefer not to give Plato's Closet even 1-star, so not deserving.

Employees are not personable whatsoever. 3 of the 5 working stood around on their phones until I went up and asked for help. Absolutely 0 customer service skills.

Took 6 bags of NICE clothes in and they took 7 things for $16. A little over $2 each piece. When a t shirt now costs $20. And Plato’s sells them for $15. Who comes up with this buying and selling system? Especially when half their clothes they sell are low quality off brand items. It just blows my mind. This places used to be good. No chance of coming back now.

I was just here today, and absolutely loved it! I’ve been to a couple Plato’s closets before, and this one is the nicest! They had a great variety of clothing in my size, and the staff were nice and helpful. I will definitely be back when I am in the area.

Really nice selection of clothes, but I had a gross experience finding a used floss stick and a pill in the pocket of my pants I was trying on. It didn’t bother me that much but I told the staff about it and they didn’t seem to care.

I had the absolute worst experience this evening here. I was not greeted with anything but a blank stare. No “how are you” “kiss my butt” or anything!!! I brought in my items and was told had to pick up by 8pm. My “offer” was provided to me within about 15 minutes. They took two items out of two bags full of clothes and shoes. $4.80. Wow! What a waste of time. They ripped both of my bags and offered no assistance or remorse as they watched me try to carry and scoot the bags out of the store. Both girls who “helped” me today were nothing short of rude, and ugly attitudes. Absolutely horrible customer service and I will never go there again. You can clearly tell they don’t want their jobs because I have been here before and was offered around $90 for my items. Plain and simple-LAZY AND RUDE.
