I appreciated that the parking was accessible but not that we had to pay for it. Also the restrooms are porta-potties only :/

Besides that the customer service was good and they had a lot of equipment available.

The area can be seaweed heavy but once you get further out it kinda clears out. There's a good little spot that allows you to get out of your equipment and stand up where the water is knee deep.

The views of the city are also nice

We got the day pass to paddle board and it was well worth it. It was roughly $55/ea. We paddled for a couple hours, left to grab snacks, then came back and had a makeshift picnic on the boards. The staff were all super helpful and friendly. Great way to spend a Saturday! We arrived around 10am/11am before it got too busy. Definitely recommend!

Really cool spot to rent kayaks in Austin there is a nice portion of the river accessible from there. Definitely try the experience if you are visiting. Price is very reasonable.

I had a great early morning sunrise visit, I liked that the center opens nice and early. Plenty of parking nearby and the price was very reasonable. I did have to wait a little to get checked in but it was quite busy despite being early. Once I was greeted, I was quickly taken through the waiver and I was able to leave my backpack with the team to look after. Great kayak for my needs and decent paddle. The lake is great and really calm - I'm not massively experienced, but I was very comfortable paddling. I headed left towards the city and caught the sunrise over the skyline. The location has a cool duality, city but also plenty of nature. I loved my visit and would definitely use this company again.

Been coming here since pre-covid time to kayak with my friends. Glad to get back again with my friends after covid. They did a big renovation with the deck but everything else stays the same. You get everything you need to kayak with a standard pay. View was great on the lake! Especially if you go there at sunset!

Great for a beginner if you just want to try out SUP or canoeing! Me and my friends rented paddle boards for an hour and had a super great time! After that, I immediately ordered my own paddle board because it was so fun. It's one of my favorite activities in Austin to spend my summer time and get outside!

We came in from Houston to see the fireworks on Lady Bird, and it was an amazing experience. Parking wasn't that hard to find. We were able to bring our fur babies, and they did have life vests available, but we already had bought them one before hand. We had already paid to reserve for the fireworks, but since we arrived earlier, we just paid the $55 day rental fee to kind of get a hang of working the canoe. Weren't able to at first, but we eventually got there.
Getting the rental was a breeze, and the workers there are super nice and chill. When getting people their rentals, the workers were hustling to get people in and on them as well with getting them out and off. We will totally be coming back, and this was an awesome way to spend Independence Day.

We recently visited Austin Rowing Center for a kayaking rental, and unfortunately, our experience was not what we expected. After signing the waiver, the first issue we encountered was with the life jackets. They were dirty, dusty, and wet, making it quite unpleasant to find one that was both clean and wearable. It took us several minutes to find ones that fit properly, and there were no staff members around to assist us in this process.

The second issue was with disembarking from the kayak. When we returned to the dock, there was no one around to help us get out safely. I held onto the step so my wife could get out first, and she had to go to the front desk to find someone to assist me. When a staff member finally came over, he approached me with a rude attitude, saying, “Can’t you get out by yourself?”

I didn’t respond to his rudeness, but I couldn’t help but feel that safety should be a priority for any kayaking rental service. It’s unclear whether helping customers out of the kayak is part of their job description, but given the potential for accidents, some assistance would be expected.

In general, the equipment maintenance and customer service left much to be desired. I hope the management considers improvements in these areas, as they would make the experience safer and more enjoyable for future visitors.
